The Festival is a rare occasion and a living testimony to the country’s ancient past. People come dressed in their finest, families pack their best food for lunch, men and women joke and exchange tales, and children crane their necks to catch a sight of the day-long dances.

This festival has a unique story. An old woman who was sitting outside her house was visited by a Lama asking for drinking water. It is believed that the Lama vanished as she went in to get water leaving behind a sack containing a Statue. And this statue is displayed during the festival.
